TP9 – Universität Duisburg-Essen, Fakultät für Chemie and Center for Nanointegration Duisburg-Essen (CENIDE)

The group of Corina Andronescu is experienced in the synthesis and in-depth structural and electrochemical characterisation of non-noble metal-based electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution, oxygen reduction and hydrogen evolution reactions as well as the synthesis of stable and selective electrocatalysts for CO2 reduction and alcohol oxidation. The synthesis of polybenzoxazine-based nanocomposites as a precursor for stable and active hybrid electrocatalysts constitutes an important part of her research.

TP9 will focus on the development of electrodes for N2 electrooxidation with suitable activity and selectivity to NO3- as well as glycerol and solketal electrooxidation at high current densities. The aim will be to find suitable electrocatalysts, optimise the experimental conditions, fabricate electrodes and perform fundamental studies to unveil the reaction mechanism and information about the structure-reactivity relationship.
