TP1 – Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Analytische Chemie, Elektroanalytik & Sensorik

The group of Wolfgang Schuhmann has expertise in the development and characterisation of electrocatalysts as well as the application and development of electrochemical techniques for the elucidation of activity and stability of electrocatalysts and electrolysers. Moreover, the group contributed to the field of nano- and microelectrochemistry, specifically concerning the development of scanning electrochemical (cell) microscopy (SEC(C)M) and scanning droplet cells (SDC).

TP1 aims to discover new multi-metal electrocatalysts and high-entropy materials for the targeted unusual oxidation reactions such as NH3 oxidation, N2 oxidation and alcohol oxidation but also for bridging the gap between electrocatalysis and organic electrochemistry. Moreover, TP1 will focus on electrocatalysis using catalyst-modified electrodes in organic electrolytes.
